“This guy is the real deal and will only get better. The sky is the limit for Nick.”
— T.W. Sullivan: Booking/Talent Buyer at O'Brien's Irish Pub in Temple
Integrity, dedication and authenticity are vital components of being a musician, and a soldier. Nick Sterling, a former infantryman in the U.S. Army and Purple Heart recipient, brings each of these to the Texas Music scene and beyond by presenting songs of loss, struggle and love with a delivery that is as heartbreaking as it is inspiring. Like many Combat Veterans, transitioning to civilian life was difficult as Sterling searched for that same sense of purpose he had while serving his country. Realizing that music was the mission he had been longing for, he promised to use his talents to continue serving and is donating all of the proceeds from his EP, STAND YOUR GROUND to the Lone Survivor Foundation.
Nick is bringing his unique sound across the country combining a mix of strong vocals and excellent musicianship with world-class fiddle playing to perform a blend of Country/Americana as well as everything from Roots/Folk to Bluegrass and Blues. Sterling has performed with notable acts like Zane Williams, John Baumann, Jon Wolfe and Shane Smith and the Saints. He has also had the distinct honor of being a semi-finalist at both the 2017 Larry Joe Taylor Songwriting Competition and the 2017 Chilifest Battle of the Bands competition as well as being awarded 2018 Male Vocalist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year by the Music Association of Central Texas. Sterling is scheduled to tour all over the continental United States this year as well as being slated to perform on the Texas Red Dirt Pub Crawl in Dublin, Ireland.
